Music box is an instrument of automatic music of the 19th century that produces sounds by the use of a set of pins placed on a revolving or disc to pull teeth to listening to a cylinder steel comb. They were developed from snuff boxes music of the 18th century and called carillons music. Some more complex boxes also have a small tiny drum and bells, in addition to the metal comb. Note that the tone of a musical box is different from that of any musical instrument (even if it is described as somewhere between the timbres of an mbira).
